Cuba, the largest Caribbean island, has a long tradition of cycling since 1886. The team is characterized by its discipline and collective work, but with many years of experience in the practice of crucifix cycling. We have to say that a small group of experienced regattas with the strength of young regattas, members of the Olympic classes, understandings and respects among them, have an objective: to demonstrate in the SSL Gold Cup the temperament and the ability of the regattas of the largest island of the Caribbean. The team’s goals are unity and discipline, led by a captain with high sports preparation and great results in the Snipe class, able to navigate different hydrometeorological conditions with high psychological resistance, to coordinate all the team and demonstrate in the SSL Gold Cup the temperament and the capacity of the regattas of the largest island of the Caribbean. Sanlay Castro de le Cruz 13-year-old athlete of the Cuban selection. As a national team player in the different school and youth categories since 2004 in the Optimist and Laser Radial classes. Represented by the country in the Central American and Caribbean Games in three editions, Veracruz 2014 and Barranquilla 2018 in the Laser Radial class and San Salvador 2023 snipe class, silver medal; also in continental events like the Pan American Games of Toronto 2015, Peru 2019 and Chile 2023. It is licensed in law. Alejandro la Guardia Alejandro de Guardia Pérez was born in La Habana on the 5th of July in 1998. During his professional career he participated in national and international competitions such as the Central American Games in 2014 and the XXIII Campeonato Mundial de Hobie 16 in 2022. His logros more relevantes son 5 veces National camp and South American subcampeon in 2014. Cuba has many young players with a great future in Olympic and regional classes, with the possibility of obtaining good results in close international events such as Central American, Pan American and Olympic Games. The majority of our team members for the SSL Gold Cup are young people aged 30 and above with a high competitive level in the Olympic classes
